Project Status: Design Phase
The Nightscape Tech Chronograph is a simple Arduino powered airsoft chronograph that will measure the velocity and rate of fire of an airsoft gun. This may be integrated into the Airsoft computer project.
Scratch Section
Use a short section of pvc with two pairs of ir transmitters/recievers and a custom arduino to measure the velocity and ROF of an airsoft gun.
BBs pass through a ~10mm clear tube to ensure they are picked up by the IR sensors.
End cap is adjustible to fit over outer barrel, clear inner barrel extends past PVC to enter flashider
Start with FPS, but also calculate RPS
use a force sensor to detect energy output.
Similar to madbull design, have the short section of PVC go through a project box. Mount the non-serial LCD and arduino in project box.
LEDs are too slow to use as sensors, need something like this:
